Dipping my toes into the classical music waters. Sometimes the only decent vinyl at the thrift store is classical, so I figured I should buy a few to learn about the different labels and pressing runs.

Recently arrived: over 400 Classical Audiophile LPs! Over the last year or so, we've been getting numerous requests to beef up our classical LP section. It is always difficult to allocate space to please everyone, but we've listened and have been experimenting with adding many lower-priced records to our stock. They have been selling well, so we've been keeping an eye out for good quality collections, and we are pleased to announce a great one today chock full of audiophile recordings. For those not in the know, these types of records were mainly produced in the late fifties through the seventies generally using all-tube recording equipment on high-quality virgin vinyl. They are sought after as much for their sonic qualities as for their performances. Some folks think these are t...
Recent vinyl finds... and a lifetime's worth of free classical.
Buy Classical CDs and Opera CDs at Princeton Record Exchange. New Arrivals: 9,000 Classical and Opera CDs! We always enjoy purchasing large classical CD collections and are pleased to have an enormous one to talk about today. Almost all of this 9,000 piece collection is vocal-oriented, either full-length operas or vocal recitals. As you can imagine with a collection of this size, just about every opera composer is well-represented. There are dozens (hundreds?) each from Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Wagner, etc., but also many titles from somewhat less-common composers such as Janacek, Adam, Thomas, Rameau, Cavalli, and Meyerbeer just to name a few. Also featured is a healthy dose of early 20th Century operas. About 70% have been priced cheap, under $5.00 per disc, with the rest mos...
I'll start with the approximately 30 classical CDs that I own. I think I own the essential classical library, but a true classical fan would likely argue with that and find something I should own. I haven't purchased a classical CD in probably ten years or more and find I have what I need.

Do you listen to your classical records any more?
Or do you let them sleep in their sleeves, where they be?
Do you suffer through those records that you turned
Or do you make them sleep in their sleeves where they
I had a line but I don't remember
I had a time but I don't remember
I had a line but I don't remember
